Leadership

Dr. Jonathan Graf

CEO and Founder

Jonathan has dedicated his career to developing technology for the US Department of Defense.  His research helped solve FPGA security and trust challenges on the DARPA Trust and IRIS programs (summary paper), Jonathan has also directly served DoD missions needs with novel technology solutions.  He has led more than 20 DoD SBIR projects and two large research BAAs as both Principal Investigator and Project Manager.  He holds patents in fields as broad as tamper-resistant secure processor architectures and FPGA-based reconfigurable computing.  As the Director of Technology for the Secure Computing division of Luna Innovations, he co-led that division through an acquisition by MacAulay-Brown, resulting in the transfer of an arsenal of DoD SBIR- and research-BAA-developed technologies into active daily use on defense programs.  Jonathan maintains strong ties within the university research, DoD, and Silicon Valley communities.  Jonathan has experience building teams not only from among diverse defense contractors but also by making connections between government entities whose missions are in alignment.  Jonathan's dedication to the joy and business of technology creation and deployment is the driving energy behind the Graf Research™ focus on unleashing innovation.  Jonathan holds BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Computer Engineering from Virginia Tech.

Dr. Scott Harper

CTO

Scott has a long history of defining and implementing unique solutions to challenging problems.  With over 20 years of FPGA R&D experience, he has lead results-focused teams creating novel FPGA-based communication systems, high-performance data processing solutions, and netlist analysis tools for both commercial and DoD end-users.  He holds PhD and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech and a BSEE degree from the University of Wisconsin - Platteville.
